Sarina Wiegman, head coach of England's Lionesses, received the award for Best Women’s Coach, while goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who plays for both England and Chelsea, was named Best Women’s Goalkeeper.

The prestigious Ballon d'Or—translating to "Golden Ball"—recognizes the finest footballers each year, with winners chosen by a global panel of sports journalists.

This year's event took place in Paris, which has been the traditional host city since 2019.

Dembele claimed the title of Best Men’s Player following a stellar season that saw him play a vital role in Paris Saint-Germain’s treble-winning campaign. The French forward notched 35 goals and provided 14 assists across 53 appearances, helping PSG capture the Champions League, Ligue 1, and the French Cup.

Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal, also a nominee for the top award, secured the Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player for the second consecutive year.

Meanwhile, Aitana Bonmati made history by becoming the first woman to win the Ballon d'Or three years running. The award was presented to her by Barça legend Andrés Iniesta.

Reflecting on her achievement, Bonmati said: “It’s my third consecutive time here, and it still feels surreal. Truly amazing.”

Spain and Arsenal winger Mariona Caldentey finished as the runner-up, while five English players made the women's top 10 list—including Alessia Russo of Arsenal in third place and Chloe Kelly in fifth.
