New police cruiser patrol for west district Winnipeg - BERITAJA

Winnipeg’s westbound territory neighbourhood is getting an other constabulary cruiser for each patrol shift, the first Winnipeg Police Service patrol description since 1994.

“Demand has outstripped our capacity and our capacity,” said Max Waddell, Winnipeg Police Service divisional commandant of westbound district.

The westbound territory area comprises 46 per cent of Winnipeg’s land, including St. James, River Heights, Westwood and strips of Pembina Highway.

Victor Mondaco, a long-time westbound extremity resident, is concerned that further enforcement, on pinch caller encampment rules and an unfastened drug-use crackdown, will move susceptible group into the shadows.
