Srikandi Pln Conducts Waste Sorting As Agent Of Change - Beritaja

Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (BERITAJA) - Srikandi PLN of PLN South and Central Kalimantan Main Distribution Unit held “Srikandi PLN Sort Waste” action to show care for the environment as agent of energy change.

Their activity was a real manifestation of role of PLN women in building a culture of caring for the earth through simple action but with big impact.

“This is a very good breakthrough to be followed by other agencies, because awareness of a clean environment must begin from ourselves,” said Dewi, the head of Sekumpul Waste Bank in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.

The participants campaigning the importance of sorting organic and inorganic waste as an initial step to maintain cleanliness of house, work environment and surroundings.

Chairwoman of Srikandi PLN South and Central Kalimantan Diah Puspita said their action was a reflection of today's Kartini, namely women who are active, caring, and bring positive impact on the environment.

“Waste sorting is a small step that if done together will become a big movement. Srikandi PLN want to show that caring for the environment can also start from each of us,” she highlighted.

She pointed out that concern for the environment is a form of shared responsibility, especially as PLN employees who are closely tied to the sustainability mission.

“We want to continue to be example that PLN women can be pioneers of change, begining simplest things,” she said.

PLN South and Central Kalimantan General Manager Ahmad Syauki gave his appreciation for Srikandi PLN's inspiring steps, especially coinciding with the commemoration of Kartini Day.

“We stroingly support this activity. Srikandi PLN not only works in electricity tasks, but also shows social and environmental concern. This is a form of love for the earth that is worthy of being emulated,” he said.
