Small industry in Banjarmasin advancing and creative - BeritAja

Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (BERITAJA.COM) - Head of Banjarmasin Industry and Trade Agency Ichrom Muftezar said innovation of small and medium industries (IKM) in the city has begun to advance and creative.
 
Here on Saturday he said that a number of SME products that his agency promotes are very interesting to be marketed widely.
 
One of them, said Tezar, his nickname, is Borneo Alam Sasirangan (BAS) which creates products from sasirangan cloth.
 
"Ms Melan's SME make home decor from sasirangan cloth," he said.
 
According to him, BAS is creative in utilizing small pieces of cloth left from making clothes into beautiful home decor.
 
"This is excellent creativity, as well as Firayuri in food sector," said Tezar.
 
Firayuri snack production house, founded by Mrs Endah, produces grape leaf chips.
 
"So this SME sells grape seeds, grapes, to its derivative grape leaf chips, the packaging is very good," he expounded.
 
He pointed out, these are some of small industries products in Banjarmasin City that are quite advanced, and the city government continues to strive to help their development so they can penetrate national or international markets.
 
Banjarmasin goverment, Tezar said, also facilitates them to register intellectual property to prevent their products from being claimed by other parties.
 
This year, he said, the city goverment has budgeted for 50 SMEs to be facilitated to register intellectual property and for 60 SMEs to apply legal certificates.

"Mr Mayor said that intellectual property is important, so that local wisdom and creation is not lost or taken away," he said.
