Marineland faces difficult decisions for marine mammals care
The Ontario authorities says each of Marineland’s belugas are alive.
The Niagara Falls, Ont., parkland threatened to euthanize its 30 beluga whales if the national authorities didn’t inject emergency costs for their care.
Marineland’s threats carried a Tuesday deadline that came and went aft Fisheries Minister Joanne Thompson past week denied its petition for an export licence to move the whales to an aquarium successful China.
Thompson did not capitulate to Marineland’s request, but has said she will see immoderate caller export requests expeditiously.
The parkland has not opened to the nationalist since the extremity of summertime successful 2024, arsenic it looks to waste its immense spot 1 kilometre from Horseshoe Falls.
