Hst Police Plant Corn In Production Center Village To Support Astacita - Beritaja

Barabai, South Kalimantan (BERITAJA) - Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) Police, South Kalimantan, carried out corn planting in a production center village whent taking part in simultaneous corn planting on 1 million hectares land throughout Indonesia in supportingPresident Prabowo Subianto's Astacita program to realize national food self-sufficiency.

“We are planting hybrid corn on one hectare land, but it is on more than 100 hectares land that we prepared, so that the rest can be utilized by farmer groups andteh surrounding people,” said HST Police Chief AKBP Jupri JHP Tampubolon after planting corn in Awang Village, Batang Alai Utara Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Tengah, South Kalimanatn, Tuesday.

He said this planting was carried out to support the President's Astacita program for food security. HST Police involved the regional government, related agencies and the community in conducting the simultaneous corn planting on 1 million hectares land throuhgout Indonesia.

“The planting uses modern equipment in the form of automatic corn seed planting tool with pusher to make the planting process easier and effective,” he said.

In addition to planting, HST Police also provided assistance by handing over 90 kilograms of hybrid corn seed to Usaha Bersama Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan) of Awang Village and it is hoped to be utilized optimally.

“National Police fully support hybrid corn development as a strategic step to increase food production and farmers welfare, especially in Hulu Sungai Tengah,” said the police chief.

Meanwhile, Head of HST Agriculture Office (Distan) Budi Satrya Tanjung appreciated HST Police for carrying out corn planting to push national food security.

"The National Police fully supports the development of hybrid corn as a strategic step to increase food production and farmer welfare, especially in Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency," said the police chief.

Meanwhile, Head of HST Agriculture Office (Distan) Budi Satrya Tanjung appreciated HST Police for carrying out corn planting to push national food security.

His office will also collaborate in next process, especially in reviewing post-planting so that the productivity of corn has been planted can be optimal.

"Hopefully this program will produce positive results and can constribute to supporting national food security as we all hope,” said Budi.
